SANITATION SYSTEMS PROJECT
EWB-BU is working to promote healthy hygiene and sanitation practices within the Naluja Community, especially within and surrounding the central health clinic where our projects are focused. Specifically, this project serves to address the need for more latrines near the clinic, as it recently expanded by building a second maternity ward. With the increased demand for care, maintaining high standards of hygiene and sanitation is essential for proper maternal and neonatal health. While the other projects proposed for assessment focus on water access, filtration, and distribution, the hygiene and sanitation project helps prevent recontamination of potable water or risk of disease related to fecal bacteria.
